Product Description

Package includes:

  • MMS Standard PCM
  • 2.5" T304 stainless downpipe without cat
  • 56mm throttle body
  • 180 degree thermostat
  • AL 605 plugs  - 1 heat range colder than factory (recommend gap at .050")

 

Please note that if you have an early model 3100, which would be between 1994 and 1999, we highly recommend doing a "3400 top swap" along with this performance package to get the most out of your engine.  The small port intake manifolds these older 3100 engines come with will seriously hold back your engine's ability to make power.

If you already have a 3500 or 3400 engine installed in your car that was originally equipped for the 3100, all these parts will be able to be used with these other engines as well, although some parts may require adapters to work with the 3500 (like the throttle body).  If you have a 3500 engine, we suggest using our 3500 swap kit.  We also sell these components individually.

Exact contents of package vary with year and model and option selections.  Picture above is a late-model N-body package with 59mm throttle body, EGR delete, and downpipe without cat.

    2001 Buick Century

    I didn't get everything installed at once, so I was able to see how each part affected performance. I started with the 54mm throttle body, and noticed just a touch more noise, maybe 1/1.5 mph highway fuel economy increase. I then added the EGR bypass and ECU. This really changed how the car drove. Not huge gains, but the shifting and revving were much improved. Finally I got the downpipe on, and this made the biggest difference. The car now is more free revving higher in the range. Very little sound difference, just a slight bit of rasp if you are showing off, if you are listening for it. Still haven't done the plugs. Going to do those when I switch to the MSD cables and L67 coil packs.

    Definitely a must to get the LG8 to be less of a tired ol' dog.
